Friends of the College Update Sept 2024
Dear Friends of the College,
A new academic year has commenced. The building is full of eager students ready for another year of ministry preparation. It has been a delight to welcome 5 new postgraduate students and 8 new undergraduate students. Sign ups for our new-look evening class Foundations: The Basics of Theology are steadily rolling in. If you’d like to join you can find more information here. Thank you for praying over the summer, these new students are tangible answers to your prayers.
Commencement
On Tuesday 17th September at 7:30pm the Irish Baptist College Commencement Service took place in Great Victoria Street Baptist Church. This service marked the beginning of a new year of studies for all students and we welcomed new students on all our various courses. You can catch up on our YouTube channel. Liam Garvie (Associate Pastor, Charlotte Chapel, Edinburgh and International Director, The Pillar Network) was our guest speaker.
Irish Baptist Historical Society
On Thursday 17th October the Irish Baptist Historical Society will meet at 7:30pm in the Baptist Centre for an address marking the centenary of Portadown Baptist Church. Pastor Andrew Roycroft will deliver the address, which is entitled God is Faithful: 100 Years of Baptist Witness in Portadown. The society serves a vital function in documenting the history of our Association. Indeed, the addresses are a huge encouragement regarding the work of God through our meagre Baptist witness on the island (and further afield).
Free Book
If you’ve been thinking about signing up as a Gospel Guardian but haven’t got around to doing it, now’s the time. Every new Gospel Guardian will receive a free book, ‘Know Your Enemy’ by Graham Beynon. The College needs a generation of Gospel Guardians who will stand with the College and its students by donating regularly to the work. To find out more and sign up, click here.
